Cal State Fullerton Ranks Eighth in Nation
For Undergraduate Degrees Awarded to Hispanics

Cal State Fullerton has moved up to eighth place in the nation for awarding bachelor's degrees to Hispanics, according to the May 5 Hispanic Outlook in Higher Education's annual Top 100, a national listing of colleges and universities. Last year, CSUF was listed ninth.

The latest ranking is based on 2000-2001 data gathered by the National Center for Education Statistics, U.S. Department of Education.

In specific academic programs, Cal State Fullerton ranks second nationally for the number of undergraduate degrees awarded to Hispanics in communications and in public administration, fifth for undergraduate degrees in education and criminal justice, ninth for business and area studies, and
10th for liberal arts degrees awarded.

Seventeen CSU campuses are among the top 100 institutions of higher education for the number of undergraduate degrees awarded to Hispanics, according to the report. Cal State Fullerton is third highest among CSU campuses after Cal State L.A. and San Diego State.

Cal State Fullerton and 10 other CSU campuses also are ranked in the top 100 for the number of master's degrees awarded to Hispanics.
