NASA Fellow To Examine Grant Possibilities

Willie B. Williams, a NASA research program manager who made a brief visit to campus in March to discuss the agency’s research on the International Space Station, has returned to spend the summer as a visiting NASA Fellow.

Williams is a fellow in the NASA Administrator’s Fellowship Program. His research interests are software engineering, tele-communications and information technology. His assignment as a NAFP Fellow includes participating in developing and testing different designs and other applications for use on the space station.

He is assigned to the Division of Engineering in the College of Engineering and Computer Science, where he plans to offer faculty members and graduate students guidance and counsel regarding funding for research projects.

“I will participate with the university in its collaboration with local community colleges and high schools to explore the work that NASA does to excite students, especially minority students, about the challenges and opportunities that careers in engineering, science and aerospace offer,” he said.

Williams invites faculty members and students to make arrangements to meet with him to discuss NASA grant opportunities. He may be contacted at 278-7028.
