The Orange County Register
FULLERTON In recognition of Veterans' Day on Sunday, children in the city are invited to write "thank you" letters to veterans and place them in special mailboxes at the local libraries.
The correspondence can be deposited throughout November. The library staff will mail the letters to a veterans' department in Washington D.C.
The mailboxes are in the children's department at the Main Library, 353 W. Commonwealth Ave., and at the Hunt Branch, 201 S. Basque Ave.
As part of the adult Veterans' Day program, the library will host a lecture by Cal State Fullerton professor Robert McLain titled, "The Final Drive in the Pacific, 1945."
The talk will be in the Osborne Auditorium of the Main Library from 1:30 to 3 p.m. Sunday.
