Choir members earn honors

Seven Oak Park High School choir students have been chosen for Regional Honors Choir.

Alexandra Corley, Francesca Corley, Andrew Karl, Kelli Kay, Rebecca Fondiler, Laura Miller, and Michael Potter were among the 600 students from the Southern California region who auditioned this year for the honors choir.

The seven students attended a rehearsal with the AllState Regional Choir winners on Oct. 27 at Valencia High School.

An honor choir weekend on Fri. and Sat., Nov. 16 and 17 will take place at Santa Monica High School, 601 Pico Blvd., Santa Monica. All Southern California Regional Honors Choir winners will perform in concert at 7:30 p.m. Nov. 17 at Santa Monica High School.

Students who are moving on to the State Honors Choir will be notified shortly afterward. State Honors Choir will be held March 13 to 15, 2008 in Sacramento.

Andrew Karl, Chris Karl, Kelli Kay and Rebecca Fondiler represented Oak Park High School in the Festival Choir at the Cal State Fullerton 16th annual High School Choral Festival on Oct. 6. The Festival Choir comprised 33 quartets, one from each participating high school.
