Cal State Fullerton will host a public forum to discuss Anaheim's resort-area development issues Thursday night.

Anaheim City Council member Lorri Galloway, who supports affordable housing in Anaheim's resort area, and Anaheim Chamber of Commerce president Todd Ament, who supports the Disney-backed Save Our Anaheim Resort coalition, will speak as panelists.

The Real Estate and Land Use Institute, along with the university's Student Real Estate Association, will host the forum. Representatives from the League of Women Voters will moderate the discussion. The public is invited.

Michael LaCour-Little, professor of finance co-director of the Real Estate and Land Use Institute at California State University, said the forum will present a learning opportunity for students studying the real estate market at Cal State.

"The president of our student real estate association will be there," he said. "A number of students taking our introductory real estate class are attending."

Disneyland and SunCal, a housing developer, have been battling for a year over development issues.

The debate focuses on a plot in the resort district. SunCal wants to develop housing on it, while Disney argues that the land should be reserved for hotels or other resort attractions in keeping with its original zoning.

Land use measures on upcoming ballots will address the issue.
