Long kick gives UC Riverside tie with Fullerton, 2-2

Zach Walker scored from 50 yards out on a free kick that tucked just under the crossbar in the 90th minute to give UC Riverside 2-2 tie against Cal State Fullerton in a Big West Conference men's soccer game Wednesday.

The two teams went scoreless in the two overtime periods.

UCR is now 4-3-5, 1-1-3 in conference.

Vanguard 1, Cal Baptist 0 - - Scott Falkner scored the lone goal off a corner kick by Tom Culver in the ninth minute to lift Vanguard (8-5, 3-4) over California Baptist (6-7-1, 2-5) in a Golden State Athletic Conference match.

Men's Water Polo

Golden West 13, RCC 8 - - Srdan Milic scored three goals to lead Riverside Community College, ranked No. 4 in the state, in a loss to No. 1 Golden West in an Orange Empire Conference match.

Women's Water Polo

RCC 14, Golden West 2 - - Led by Jennifer Grutz's four goals, Riverside Community College defeated Golden West to remain undefeated at 22-0, 5-0 in conference with a week left in the season.

Men's Tennis

UCR players in regionals - - UC Riverside's Joe Cartledge and John Park advanced to the second round of the ITA Regionals in Malibu.

Cartledge defeated San Diego State's Michael Beron, 2-6, 6-4, 6-3, and Park defeated Andy Geers of Cal Poly, 1-6, 6-3, 6-2.
