Tuesday highlights: USC volleyball tops UCI
The Trojans outlast the Anteaters in a five-game match.

UC Irvine was unable to hold on to a 2-0 games lead, falling to the host fourth-ranked Trojans 27-30, 28-30, 30-26, 30-26, 15-5 Tuesday in a nonconference match at the Galen Center. The loss dropped UC Irvine to 12-6 on the season while the USC improved to 14-1 overall.
The Anteaters (12-6) were led by outside hitter Kari Pestolesi, who totaled 22 kills while adding 18 digs. USC was paced by Asia Kaczor, who had 20 kills while Kimmee Roleder added 16 kiss.
CS Northridge 3, CS Fullerton 2:Despite a career-high 28 kills by Jennifer Francisco, Cal State Fullerton dropped its first Big West Conference match to host Cal State Northridge, in a thrilling five-game contest that saw two of the final three games go into overtime.
Fullerton evens their record at 7-7 on the year and falls to 2-1 in league action with the 30-26, 24-30, 36-34, 25-30, 18-20 defeat. Northridge improves to 6-11, 3-2.
Biola 3, Azusa Pacific 1:Junior outside hitter Jessica Buffum had a match-high 15 kills and 17 digs to lead host No. 5 Biola to a 17-30, 30-17, 30-23, 30-28 victory over archrival and No. 8 Azusa Pacific in a Golden State Athletic Conference match.
The Eagles (15-2, 8-2 GSAC) used a balanced attack with four players recording 10 or more kills. Senior outside hitter Brittany Wing recorded 12 kills to give her 1,011 in her career, making her just the eighth player in school history to have 1,000 career kills.
Fresno Pacific 3, Hope International 0:Lane Jillian had 10 kills in for Hope (3-9, 1-8) in a 30-20, 30-25, 30-9 loss to Fresno (18-0, 9-0).
Concordia 3, The Master’s 0:Traci Weamer had 11 kills to lead the Eagles to a sweep of the host Mustangs.
MEN’S SOCCER
In just his second game back after missing the first seven games of the year with a fractured metatarsal, UCLA sophomore forward David Estrada scored the game-winning goal in UCLA’s 1-0 shutout victory over San Diego.
Sophomore midfielder Andrew Sinderhoff set up Estrada’s goal. Just one minute after coming into the game, Sinderhoff took a shot that San Diego goalkeeper Kelin Briones got a hand on. Estrada pounced on the rebound and put it away from five yards out for his first goal of the season at 36:54.
WOMEN’S SOCCER
Junior midfielder Kaitlyn Lux buried the game-winning goal with 37 seconds remaining in regulation to give No. 18 Concordia a 1-0 victory over host San Diego Christian.
WOMEN'S GOLF
The Long Beach State women's golf team finished in 13th place at the Heather Farr/CU Memorial Invitational at the Omni Interlocken Resort Golf Course. The 49ers shot a 312 in Tuesday's third round to finish with a score of 921. Host Colorado won the team title with an 885, followed by Oklahoma (889) and Idaho (890).
On the individual side, LBSU senior Katy Barrett shot an eight-over 224 (75-73-76) to tie for 20th place overall.
