Fresno State junior Rudolf Siwy opened the season with a victory at the Intercollegiate Tennis Association's All-American in Tulsa, Okla. Siwy beat New Mexico's Graeme Kassautzki 6-1, 7-6 (1) during the first day of qualifying.

"Rudy played solid and with a lot of confidence," coach Jay Udwadia said. "He played within himself and was at his best in the tiebreaker."

Up next today for Siwy -- 19-10 last season -- is a match against Mississippi's Jakob Klaeson.

The All-American Tennis Championships include five days of qualifying events that precede the main draw.
