Confident Tigers take on Titans
The Pacific women's volleyball team will try to remain unbeaten in the Big West Conference when it visits Cal State Fullerton at 7 p.m. today at Titan Gym.
The Tigers (7-2, 1-0 Big West) have won six consecutive matches, their longest winning streak since the end of the 2004 season. They have not won seven in a row since 2001.
The Titans (6-5) defeated UC Davis 3-0 (30-16, 30-26, 30-22) in their Big West opener on Friday.
Pacific junior Shannon Krug leads the Big West and ranks 13th in Division I with 13.1 assists per game. Junior Alexa Anderson leads the team with 135 kills.
Delta wins two
At San Diego, the Mustangs beat Citrus and Palomar 3-0 at the San Diego Mesa Tournament. Ashley Davison had 12 kills, Stephanie Williamson had 36 assists and Geneya Terlouw had 30 digs for Delta (6-2) in the 30-28, 30-23, 30-17 win over Citrus. Megan Heine had 14 kills and Williamson had 42 assists to lead the Mustangs in the 30-22, 30-20, 31-29 win over Palomar.
MENS WATER POLO
Delta takes two
At Fremont, the Mustangs (8-3) defeated Sierra College 17-11 and Ohlone 15-11 at the Ohlone Tournament. Justin Linscheid had seven goals against Sierra. Linscheid and Nick Fadden had three goals each against Ohlone.
COLLEGE FIELD HOCKEY
Cal 6, Pacific 2
At Berkeley, Kim Keyawa scored two goals as the Tigers (1-7) lost to the Bears (7-1).
BOYS WATER POLO
Roseville 7, Bear Creek 2
At Fairfield, the Bruins (3-1) split at the Jim Healy Tournament when it lost to Roseville but beat Sonora by forfeit.
Alex Garza and Kenny Hamilton scored for Bear Creek against Roseville.
BOYS SOCCER
Lincoln 2, Lodi 1
At Lincoln, Paul Jaffe scored two goals to lead the Trojans (5-3-1, 4-1 SJAA).
Franklin 4, Tracy 0
At Franklin, Hugo Aguayo had two goals and one assist for the Yellowjackets (9-1-1, 4-1 SJAA).
GIRLS TENNIS
Lodi wins two
At Brentwood, the Flames (12-1) defeated Liberty 7-0 and Lowell of San Francisco 6-1 at the Freedom Tournament. Ana Rocha won her No. 1 singles match against Liberty 6-0, and Noelle Anderson defeated her opponent from Lowell 6-4, 7-6 in No. 4 singles.
