Senior Jamie Bell scored eight minutes into overtime to lead the Loyola Marymount women's soccer team to a 2-1 win over host Cal State Fullerton on Thursday.
The Lions (3-3-1) won their third straight and avenged their first-round NCAA Tournament loss to the Titans last season.
Lauren Cram scored 51 seconds into the game to give Fullerton (3-3-1) the early lead.
Jessica Sharpe then tied things up in the 26th minute.
Men's soccer
Chance Myers scored off Kyle Nakazawa's free kick in the 88th minute to giving No. 13 UCLA a 1-0 victory over host San Francisco. Brian Perk had four saves for the Bruins (3-2-1).
Women's volleyball
Kaitlin Sather racked up 17 kills and nine digs as No. 5 UCLA outlasted visiting Arizona, 27-30, 33-31, 30-19, 30-27, in both teams' Pacific-10 Conference opener. Ali Daley added 13 kills and 12 digs for UCLA (11-1, 1-0).
No. 4 USC 3, Arizona State 0: Freshman Kimmee Roleder had a season-high 18 kills as the Trojans cruised to a 30-14, 30-21, 30-25 victory in their Pac-10 opener at the Galen Center. Diane Copenhagen added 14 kills and nine digs for USC (11-0, 1-0), while Taylor Carico (Mira Costa High) posted 40 assists and seven digs.
ASU libero Sydney Donahue (Mira Costa) became the Pac-10's career leader in digs (see Chris Jackson's College Notebook) after recording 17 digs on the evening, eclipsing the record held by USC's Debora Seilhamer (2,071 digs from 2003-06). Donahue has 2,084 digs in her career.
It was the Trojans' 23rd straight win against the Sun Devils (8-6, 0-1), dating to the 1995 season. Sarah Reaves led ASU with 10 kills.
