Bobcats release 2007-08 schedule

San Marcos — Four fall tournaments, a spring road swing to California and seven Southland Conference home dates highlight the 2007-08 Texas State women's tennis schedule.

The Bobcats open the year on the road at the Red Raider Shootout Sept. 21-22 in Lubbock and also travel to the Stephen F. Austin tournament this month.

Texas State plays host to St. Edward’s and Trinity on Oct. 6 before traveling back to Lubbock for the ITA Regional Tournament Oct. 19-23.

The Bobcats open the spring dual season back in Lubbock against Texas Tech on Jan. 26 and will play Air Force the following day on the same courts.

The squad’s home opener is slated for Feb. 20 against St. Edwards.

The Bobcats will enjoy the luxury this season of both opening and closing Southland Conference play at home. The Bobcats open SLC play the weekend of March 1-2 taking on Northwestern State and Central Arkansas. The team will close out SLC play with three straight at home - April 12 (Nicholls State), April 13 (Southeastern Louisiana) and April 19 (Texas-Arlington).

In addition to early season dual matches on the road at Texas A&M and Texas-Pan American, the Bobcats will play three matches in the Los Angeles metropolitan area against Cal State Fullerton, Cal State Northridge and California-Riverside.

The Southland Conference Tournament is slated for April 25-27 in Nacogdoches.
