RV facility goes for $1.75M


ONTARIO - Marcus & Millichap recently announced the sale of Indio RV Storage in Indio. This 5.3 acre storage facility site commanded a sales price of $1,750,000.

Steve Novarro, investment specialist in Marcus & Millichap's Ontario office, had the exclusive listing to market the property on behalf of a California-based private investor. He also secured and represented the buyer in the transaction, a California-based investment group.

The property is a 375 by 618 foot parcel located at Dr. Carreon Boulevard just east of Calhoun Street in Indio. The owner has improved the property by acquiring full approval and entitlements for a 301 space recreational vehicle, boat, and self-storage facility.

Collins joins Weichert's Upland office


UPLAND - John Collins has joined the sales team at the Upland office of Weichert Realtors - Foothill Properties. He specializes in commercial sales and serves clients in the Inland Empire.

Collins is a 15-year area resident, currently of Corona, who has a bachelor's degree in business/finance from Cal State Fullerton. His background includes work as an account executive with Secure Content Solutions where he developed hardware/software security systems for school districts.

Collins is a self-described "surfing enthusiast and off-road adventurer."

Contract awarded for $6.4M project in Lake Elsinore


COLTON - Omni West Group Inc. of Laguna Hills has awarded Hodgdon Miank Construction Inc. the contract to build The Plaza at Lakeview Medical & Professional Center, a new $6.4 million project situated in the master-planned community of Canyon Estates in Lake Elsinore.

The project, which has recently broken ground, features two upscale 33,000-square-foot two-story buildings and is expected to be completed by the first quarter of 2008.

According to Aaron Miank, president of Hodgdon Miank Construction Inc., one building is slated for professional offices, while the other is designed for medical offices and includes a patient drop-off point. The buildings will be sold or leased as office condominiums and will offer panoramic valley and lake views and feature a high-end Mediterranean design.

The Ontario office of Grubb & Ellis and Austin-Brockett of Temecula are handling the marketing, sales and leasing of the project.

Phase of Stater Bros. move completed


SAN BERNARDINO - The first phase of Stater Bros. Markets' move from its headquarters in Colton to its new facility on the east side of San Bernardino took place this weekend as movers carried desks, filing cabinets and everything else to the new building.

Stater Bros.' corporate team members, led by Chairman Jack Brown, will be sitting behind their old desks in their new building beginning today.

The two warehouses - one for groceries and the other for refrigerated and frozen goods - are scheduled to open in February and in July of 2008.

Gem of a Faire


ONTARIO - The Ontario Convention Center will serve as host for this weekend's Gem Faire, which runs Friday through Sunday in Exhibit Hall B.

For a $5 weekend pass, visitors can take advantage of the lowest prices on the market for fine quality jewelry, gems, beads, crystals, silver, rocks, minerals and more.

More than 50 exhibitors from all over the world will be participating. The hours are 12-7 p.m. on Friday, 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Saturday and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Sunday.

The Ontario Convention Center is located at 2000 Convention Center Way.
