Cal State Fullerton classes at El Toro base canceled Thursday because of shorted cable

Classes have been canceled today, Thursday, at the Irvine campus of Cal State Fullerton because of a short in an underground cable that knocked out electricity, said spokeswoman Paula Selleck.

The cancellation affects the 41 classes that start at 4 and 7 p.m. The campus is at the old El Toro air base.

Friday’s classes will meet as scheduled. If the cable has not been repaired by Friday, classes will be moved to the smaller building at the campus on the south side of Trabuco Road.

The main telephone line, 949-936-1601, is operating.
