Kevin Costner To Back Rosenblatt
Omaha, NE, Omaha has been host to the College World Series for nearly 60 years. To keep it here, the city has two plans in the works, build a new stadium downtown or do major renovations to Rosenblatt. Now one group has a unique idea to keep the CWS where it's at.
You may have seen emails popping up lately, they're from the "Save Rosenblatt Committee" mentioning they've got Kevin Costner backing them in their fight to keep the CWS here. Today, we confirmed the rumors, Costner's commercial shoots next week. Costner's been out at Rosenblatt several times to support his friend's team, Texas as well as his alma mater Cal State-Fullerton.
Earlier this month, Costner was asked about Rosenblatt, he told the associated press, "If i can help I'm very willing to... I'll be a soldier." Meanwhile, the "Save Rosenblatt Committee chairman told me today that Costner is reading a script for the Rosenblatt commercial now and they're going down to new mexico on the 27th to shoot it.
Actually that's the same weekend that NCAA's Dennis Poppe will be here in Omaha to talk about future plans for the stadium. Meanwhile, Jack Diesing, who heads up the college world series, says it'll still be some time before any decision is made.
