PEOPLE IN THE NEWS

Bernice Lee was selected to be one of 48 summer interns at National Public Radio. Lee worked in the office of the general counsel at NPR’s headquarters in Washington, D.C. Currently a third year law student at Northeastern University in Boston, Lee’s experience includes interning with the Massachusetts Commission Against Discrimination and with a federal district judge. Lee received her bachelor’s degree in communications with a focus in photography from Cal State Fullerton. The NPR internship program is designed to provide college students and recent graduates with an opportunity to learn about broadcasting and the supporting areas of NPR through hands-on, practical experience.


Air Force Airman Lora J. Boozier, a 2002 graduate of Woodbridge High, graduated from basic military training at Lackland Air Force Base in San Antonio, Texas. During the six weeks of training, the airman studied the Air Force mission, organization, and military customs and courtesies; performed drill and ceremony marches, and received physical training, rifle marksmanship, field training exercises and special training in human relations. In addition, airmen who complete basic training earn credits toward an associate degree through the Community College of the Air Force. She is the daughter of Gilbert and Susan Boozier of Irvine.
