Dan Billow

If you watch a launch on TV, then you probably recognize Dan Billow as WESH 2 News's space reporter.
Dan has been with WESH 2 News for more than 14 years. He was born in Orange, Calif., and attended California State University in Fullerton. He graduated with a degree in communications and economics.
Dan won the duPont/Columbia Award, the Society of Professional Journalists Bronze Medallion and an Emmy award for WESH 2 News's coverage of the Columbia accident.
Dan has won two other Emmy awards. In December 2001, he won for a documentary that included video from the first TV camera ever to accompany NASA's final inspection team to the shuttle launch pad. Another personal favorite story for Dan came when he experienced weightlessness while doing a special series on NASA.
His other Emmy was awarded for his coverage of Hurricane Erin.
Dan has a wife, son and two daughters, and he enjoys trim carpentry and reading in his spare time. His favorite book is "The Civil War: A Narrative" by Shelby Foote.
He is also stuyding to become a certified meteorologist.
