Aug. 25: Black Chamber of Commerce to honor Anaheim, Cal State Fullerton.
Event will honor City of Anaheim and Cal State Fullerton.

The Orange County Black Chamber of Commerce will hold its 16th annual Awards Banquet Saturday, Aug. 25 at the Anaheim Convention Center.

This year's event will focus on education, specifically on the "reading, writing and recording of our history," according to Black Chamber President Bobby McDonald of Anaheim Hills.

Guests are asked to bring a book on black history to the event. The books will be to be donated to school libraries.

Among honorees at the banquet will be the City of Anaheim, which will be recognized for its 150th Anniversary, and Cal State Fullerton, for its 50th anniversary.
