Ferrier named assistant to city manager
Former redevelopment manager fills post after Joe Felz moves to Parks, Recreation directorship.

FULLERTON — Robert Ferrier, 34, redevelopment manager for the city, was named today as assistant to City Manager Chris Meyer.
Ferrier joined the city's Redevelopment and Economic Development Department three years ago after working in redevelopment for the cities of Riverside and Long Beach.
He fills the vacancy created when former assistant, Joe Felz, was promoted to director of the Parks and Recreation Department.
In his new role, Ferrier will monitor county, state and federal legislation for potential impacts on the city and provide staff support for the mayor and City Council.
He will also continue working on economic development projects for the city.
Raised in Lakewood, he graduated from Mayfair High School.
Ferrier earned a bachelor's degree in history from Cal State Fullerton and a master's degree in public administration from Cal State Long Beach.
He lives in Cypress with his wife, Allison, and daughter Shelby, 6.
