Bulls busy looking at draft prospects
By Mike McGraw
Perhaps to prove the organization has nothing to hide, general manager John Paxson released the names of every draft prospect who either has worked out for the Bulls or is scheduled to visit the Berto Center
.
Most of the household names already had been mentioned. Today’s session with Corey Brewer and Al Thornton also is set to include a pair of big men, Duke’s Josh McRoberts and Colorado State’s Jason Smith.
An unannounced workout last week included Maryland’s D.J. Strawberry, Florida’s Taurean Green, Oregon’s Aaron Brooks, Cal State-Fullerton’s Bobby Brown and Virginia’s Sean Singletary.
Purdue’s Carl Landry also was in last week, while Vanderbilt’s Derrick Byars, DePaul’s Wilson Chandler and Jared Dudley of Boston College are due in Thursday.
Even though guards Acie Law and Javaris Crittenton performed well for the Bulls last week, the team’s most likely scenario is to take whomever is left between big men Joakim Noah, Spencer Hawes and Yi Jianlian with the No. 9 pick.
The Bulls wouldn’t mind trading the pick for an experienced big man, but that’s easier said than done.
