FAIRBORN — Trying to build on the momentum of a trip to the NCAA men's basketball tournament, Wright State plans to host a five-day "open house" at the Nutter Center for fans to buy season tickets.
In conjunction with the event, which begins Sunday from 1-5 p.m., the Raiders have announced opponents for 14 home games for 2007-08. Dates have not been finalized.
The season begins in mid-November, with the Horizon League tournament starting the first week of March. Season ticket prices are $188 for adults, $165.50 for alumni, staff and seniors and $112 for children.
In addition to playing each of nine Horizon League opponents (Valparaiso is new this season) once at home, the Raiders also entertain Coastal Carolina, Marshall, Bradley, Miami and St. Bonaventure. An additional home opponent is being sought.
Nonconference road games include Marist, Cal State-Fullerton and a BracketBuster game.
After Sunday's event, the Nutter Center will be open for seat selection Monday through Wednesday from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. and 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. A single Thursday session from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. also will be held. Coaches and some players are expected at all sessions, as well as light snacks and "various family-oriented activities."
WSU ticket director Darin Cronebach said he expects to top the school's original goal of 2,000 season tickets.
The school sold between 1,200 and 1,500 season tickets last year.
