More than 1,500 Expected for Welcome to CSU Fullerton Day

April 8, 2008

More than 1,500 local high school seniors and community college transfer students admitted to Cal State Fullerton for the fall semester - as well as up to 3,000 prospective students their families and friends - will visit the university to find out more about the campus and what the university has to offer.

"Through the Decades: 50 Years of Titan" is the theme of this year's 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. April 12 event in celebration of the university's 50th anniversary.

From 9 a.m. to noon the campus will host a resource fair along Titan Walk and in the Quad where participants can gather will information about each of the colleges, student services and programs, campus clubs and organizations. In addition, there will be workshops about financial aid, campus programs, orientation requirements, housing options and other information, as well as tours of the campus, including a look at the new Student Recreation Center, every 15 minutes.

This is an opportunity for Cal State Fullerton to show the community true Titan pride and highlight what our university has to offer," said Delia Tijerina, assistant director for Pre-College Programs. "Most student services will be present and all the colleges will be represented."

Based on a survey from the 2006 Welcome to Cal State Fullerton Day, 80 percent of those surveyed reported that this event, or an event like this, helped them in making a decision about which university they will attend, Tijerina said.
