Nutrition and Wellness Conference

The College of Health and Human Development and the Health Science Department are hosting "Nutrition and Wellness: A Novel and Multidisciplinary Approach," an April 18 health conference addressing the relationship between nutrition, obesity and disease.
The keynote speaker for the 8 a.m. to noon event is nutritional scientist Cheryl Rock, professor of family and preventive medicine at UC San Diego. Rock researches cancer, diet nutrition, obesity, vitamins C and D, weight loss and women's health.

The event kicks off at 8 a.m. with registration, a continental breakfast and introductions in Room 199 of the Kinesiology and Health Science Building. The keynote address begins at 8:45 a.m. followed by "Intestinal Flora and Health" presented by Donor D. Kahana, a fellow of pediatric gastroenterology and nutrition at Mattel Children's Hospital at UCLA. Archana J. McEligot, associate professor of health science at Cal State Fullerton, concludes the program with an 11:15 a.m. talk on "Nutrition Research at Cal State Fullerton."
