Cal State Fullerton Hosts Forum That Goes "Beyond Sound Bites"

April 18, 2008

Cal State Fullerton's Center for Community Dialogue hosts "Beyond Sound Bites: Health Care" a panel discussion/dialogue on why the medical system operates as it does and what can be done to make it better. The 7:30 p.m. event on Wednesday, April 23, will be held in Portola Pavilion of the Titan Student Union.

Panelists include Jack Glaser, senior vice president, theology and ethics, and director of the Center for Healthcare Reform, St. Joseph Health System; David Riley, assistant director, Orange County Health Care Agency; and Sora P. Tanjasiri, associate professor of health science at Cal State Fullerton. Moderator is John Reinard, chair and professor of human communication studies.

"We are trying to move the discussion of this important issue beyond media sound bites and the political agenda to a conversation that more fully informs everyday citizens about the dynamic nature of health care in the United States," said Robert Emry, co-director, Center for Community Dialogue and emeritus professor of speech communication.
