June 11, 2007

Former Titan athlete Heather Killeen-Frisone finished ninth among females in the June 3 Rock and Roll Marathon in San Diego to qualify for the U.S. Olympic women's trials Apr. 20, 2008, in Boston. It will occur the day before the 112th Boston Marathon and will run a similar course in the historic district of Boston and use the same start/finish lines.

Killeen-Frisone’s time Sunday in San Diego was 2:42.45, beating the minimum standard of 2:50. In October, she will be among the second class of inductees into the Titan Athletics Hall of Fame.

Other former Titans, Steve Frisone and Nick Arciniaga will run in the men's trials in New York City on Nov. 3. That event will occur the same weekend as the New York Marathon. Both of these former Titans met qualifying times in earlier races.
