Coach Jeremiah's Contract Extended
November 20, 2006
The contract of Cal State Fullerton women’s basketball Coach Maryalyce Jeremiah has been “rolled over” one more year from its current expiration date of April 30, 2008, to 2009.
Jeremiah is in her 11th season at Fullerton where she became the school’s winningest women’s basketball coach when the Titans won their season opener at San Jose State on Nov. 11. Her current Fullerton record is 141-153 and her 27-season career record is 404-298.
“I am pleased that the University has shown confidence in me to lead the charge in bringing women’s basketball back to prominence both in the Big West Conference and, hopefully, in post-season play nationally,” said Jeremiah. “The contract extension is not only gratifying to me, but is a great credit to all the staff and athletes who are helping us to reach our goals.”
“We have complete confidence in Maryalyce’s ability to continue to upgrade the Titans' program,” said Director of Athletics Brian Quinn. “We’re happy with the progress she has made since her return to the post about four years ago.”
Jeremiah coached nine seasons at her alma mater Cedarville University (1965), two at Dayton and five at Indiana before her first stint at Fullerton began with the 1985-86 season. She took the Titans to their only two NCAA Tournament appearances in 1989 and 1991. She spent 11 years as a senior associate athletic director/senior woman administrator before returning to the bench.
