TOP SCHOLARS GATHER FOR OUTSTANDING PROFESSOR LECTURE
Steven N. Murray, professor of biological science
and 2002-03 Outstanding Professor, is joined March 15 by several
of his peers — all former top faculty award recipients —
prior to his lecture presentation, “Science, Seashores, the
Public and Marine Protection,” on his research of the effectiveness
of rocky shore marine life refuges. Pictured are, from left, George

Jane V. Hall, professor of economics, who has worked with Murray
on the value of protecting Southern California’s rocky intertidal
ecosystems; Keith O. Boyum, associate vice president of Academic

of philosophy; and Michael H. Horn, professor of biological science.
The Outstanding Professor Lecture is sponsored by the President’s
Office, Office of the Vice President for Academic Affairs, Academic
Senate, President’s Associates and the Faculty Development
