Eggs Are Dropping From the Sky!

What: More than 350 Orange County high school students will visit Cal State Fullerton for a day of science and engineering competitions, including the traditional egg drop event, during MESA (Mathematics, Engineering, Science Achievement) Day. Participating high schools include Century, Santa Ana, Santa Ana Valley and Saddleback, all in Santa Ana, plus Costa Mesa High School and Placentia’s Valencia High School.

When: 9 a.m. – 2:30 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 25

Where: Most activities will take place in the Engineering and Computer Science Quad

Events: Competitions include the popular packaged egg event, in which students design a protective package that will keep eggs from breaking when dropped from the roof of a campus building. Other events include crystal growing, balsa wood bridge testing, glider fly-off, Web design and remote control car demonstrations. (Schedule follows.)
