Philanthropy and the Family Business Workshop Set

What: Cal State Fullerton’s Family Business Council hosts a Feb. 18 breakfast workshop on “Philanthropy and the Family Business: Good Business, Strong Families.”
   
Speaker: Presenting the workshop will be Douglas K. Freeman, chair and national managing partner of IFF Advisors LLC, a national consulting firm that operates the Institute for Family Foundations. Freeman is author of the Founder’s Guide for Family Foundations.
   
When: 7:30 - 11 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 18
   
Where: Turnip Rose Conference Center, 300 S. Flower, Orange

In addition, the workshop will feature an interview with Douglas Stephen, president and CEO of NMC Group Inc. of Pomona, who will share how the family-owned fastener manufacturer has succeeded since 1946.

The Family Business Council, established in 1994 within the CSUF College of Business and Economics, is a partnership between the business community and Cal State Fullerton. Its mission is to enhance the well-being and survivability of Southern California family businesses by providing opportunities for education, interaction and information tailored to the needs and concerns of family businesses.
