The Center for Successful Aging at Cal State Fullerton
received a 2004 ICAA Industry Innovators Award from the International
Council on Active Aging (ICAA), the world’s largest trade
association for the senior fitness and wellness industry. The award
honors excellence and creativity in the health and wellness fields.
It salutes the efforts of Jessie Jones and Debra Rose, professors
of kinesiology and health science, and Robert Rikli, dean of the
College of Human Development and Community Service. The Center for
Successful Aging focuses on research to prevent disability and foster
healthy aging; offers health/fitness assessments and physical activity
programs to older adults; trains students to conduct health, fitness
and rehabilitation programs; and collaborates with other community
agencies to provide services and programs that enhance the quality
of life for older adults.
