Cal State Fullerton faculty artist Cynthia Ellis is joined by colleagues Jeanne Evans, violin, and Cindy Williams, piano in an evening of chamber music.

Cynthia Ellis has been raised for her “beguiling flute solo” and “moments of silken ensemble” according to the Los Angeles Times and Orange County Register. This exciting flutist regularly performs with the Pacific Symphony, Opera Pacific, the Hollywood Bowl Orchestra and can also be heard on several motion picture, television and cartoon soundtracks. Her chamber trio, Les Amis Musicalles, recently won first place in the National Flute Association Chamber Music Competition. Ellis’ column “Let’s Talk Picc” is regularly featured in Flute Talk magazine.

Jeanne Evans began her violin studies with her mother Bonnie Bell. At age 17 she was awarded a full scholarship to study with Jascha Heifetz at the University of Southern California. She has appeared as soloist with many Southern California orchestras, received numerous prizes and awards including first place in the VOCE and Coleman Chamber Music competitions. She is concertmaster of the Opera Pacific Orchestra and assistant concertmaster of the Pacific Symphony Orchestra, and has served as concertmaster for the American Ballet Theater, San Bernardino Symphony, the Neumark Ensemble and the Mozart Camerata. In addition, she has performed with the Los Angeles Music Center Opera, Los Angeles Philharmonic, Hollywood Bowl Orchestra and the San Luis Obispo Mozart Festival. Active as chamber music musician, she is a founding member of award-winning ensemble Les Amis Musicalles, which regularly performs throughout the U.S.

Cindy Williams is a freelance accompanist in the Los Angeles area having performed on the Dame Myra Hess Concert Series, broadcast live on KUSC, on the University of Texas at Austin and Arlington guest artist series, the University of Redlands guest artist series and the Young Artists Concert Series at the Aspen Music Festival. She has served as staff accompanist at UCLA and California State University, Fullerton and for the International String Conference in Graz, Austria and Lausanne, Switzerland. Williams completed her D.M.A. in accompanying from the University of Southern California and was named outstanding graduate. She has been on the faculty of several colleges, including San Jacinto College in Houston, Brazosport College in Lake Jackson, Texas and Alvin Community College. A native of Texas, she received her bachelor and masters degrees in piano performance from the University of Houston.
