When Greek-born guitarist Eleftheria Kotzia made her London debut the Times recognized her “skill, unfailingly beguiling tone, and her ability to vary her touch with fluency.” Since then she has regularly toured Europe, North Africa, North America, Australia and the Far East performing both as a soloist and with orchestras at many of the greatest international festivals. These have including the 10th Anniversary Series of D'Addario Foundation in the USA, the Festival Estival in Paris, the Tavener Festival in the Athens Concert Hall, the Segovia Celebrations in Spain, the Guitar Foundation of America Guitar Festival and the Norfolk (Norwich) and City of London festivals in the UK. Kotzia's recording career commenced in the 80s with the receiving Gramophone magazine's “Critic's Choice Recording of the Year” award for her first CD, “The Blue Guitar” featuring the premiere recording of Sir Michael Tippett's Sonata. In addition to performing, she teaches at the Welsh College of Music and is highly respected for her master classes presented around the world.
