Cal State Fullerton Hosts Helena María Viramontes

Author Helena María Viramontes will speak March 22 about her books and writing as part of Cal State Fullerton's Chicana and Chicano Studies Department Café Con Leche lecture series. The public is invited to the free event. A reception will follow her talk.

Background:     

Helena María Viramontes is the author of “Their Dogs Came With Them,” (Washington Square Press, 2008) “The Moths and Other Stories” (Arte Publico Press, 1995) and “Under the Feet of Jesus” (Plume, 1996). Named a USA Ford Fellow in 2007 by United States Artists, Viramontes also is the recipient of the John Dos Passos Prize for Literature, a Sundance Institute Fellowship, a National Endowment for the Arts Fellowship and the Luis Leal Award. She is a professor of creative writing at Cornell University in Ithaca, N.Y., where she is at work on a new novel.

Parking:
