April 2 Lecture Features Shakespeare Institute Director

What/Who:

Shakespeare’s great dramatic roles are regarded as the summit of any serious professional actor’s career, but that has not stopped amateur theater groups of all kinds from getting in on the act. Shakespeare expert and author Michael Dobson will present “Shakespeare and the Voluntary Sector” April 2. He discusses what it is about Shakespearean drama that has made it so hospitable to actors everywhere. Dobson also explores its implications for our understanding of the relations between theater and social change. His lecture is open to the public free of charge.
