Tom Hayden Delivers Hansen Lecture April 26

Tom Hayden, former California senator and a longtime leader of peace, justice and environmental movements, will deliver Cal State Fullerton’s fourth annual Hansen Lecture April 26. The lecture is free and open to the public.

More: 

Tom Hayden is founder and director of the Peace and Justice Resource Center in Culver City. A founding member of Students for a Democratic Society during the early 1960s, he took part in the civil rights movement as a freedom rider, community organizer and an anti-Vietnam War protester. He remains a leading voice for ending the wars in Afghanistan, Iraq and Pakistan and for reforming politics through a more participatory democracy. He has authored more than a dozen books, including “The Lost Gospel of the Earth” (1996), “Ending the War in Iraq” (2007) and “The Long Sixties” (2009).

Background: 

The Hansen Lecture series was created by the university's Center for Oral and Public History, in honor of Arthur A. Hansen, CSUF emeritus professor of history and retired center director.
