Tucker Wildlife Sanctuary Hosts Fair and Art Festival

What:
Live music, a barbecue, artists and vendors selling a wide range of artwork and plants are just a part of the third annual Spring Fair and Art Festival at Cal State Fullerton’s Tucker Wildlife Sanctuary in Modjeska Canyon.

When:
Saturday and Sunday, April 9 and 10
9 a.m. - 4 p.m.

Who:
Featured artist is Dan Hare, a local western artist whose work focuses on landscapes, cowboys and animals. Also on hand to sign their recent books will be Rusty Richards of the Original Sons of the Pioneers music group with his book “Casey Tibbs, Born to Ride”; Corey D. Schlom, author of “The Untold History, Stories and Legends of the Unseen Orange County”; and Allan Schoenherr, author of “Wild and Beautiful: A Natural History of Open Spaces in Orange County.” Mark Mendez, a Chumash Indian, will present a program on American Indians. 

Admission:
$2 for anyone over the age of 12. Free for all others

Additional:
Artwork for sale will include: ceramics, jewelry, photographs, oil and water color paintings, soap and candles, knitted and crocheted items, copper and metal work, handmade purses and floral arrangements. Drought-tolerant native plants also will be for sale in Tucker’s greenhouse. Attendees can take part in bird-watching walks and nature hikes led by a naturalist, as well as craft activities for children. In addition, animals from the Coastal German Shepherd rescue organization and Reptile Rescue of Orange County will be present.
