April 6 Lecture to Address Physiological Functioning, Health and Exercise

What:
A free lecture on physiological functioning, health and exercise performance in hot and cold environments will be presented at Cal State Fullerton April 6.
Who:
Dan Judelson, CSUF assistant professor of kinesiology, will present the lecture “Physiology, Safety and Performance in Stressful Environments.” As part of the presentation, the sport physiologist will discuss his research on how hydration affects exercise.

Additional:
Judelson is this year’s recipient of the College of Health and Human Development’s Faculty Scholar Award. He joined the CSUF faculty in 2006 and has a doctorate in kinesiology from the University of Connecticut. He is an active member of the American College of Sports Medicine and the American Physiological Society, serving as reviewer for Medicine and Science in Sports and Exercise and presenting at regional and national conferences.
Preview:
His research has found those who drink water and pour it on their bodies during low-intensity exercise in the heat benefit in the form of lower body temperatures and heart rates when compared to those who do not drink water or pour it on their bodies while exercising.
