Registration Open for ‘Engineering Innovation’ Summer Program

Registration remains open for Cal State Fullerton’s College of Engineering and Computer Science summer program for high school students interested in learning more about becoming engineers. Engineering Innovation, a four-week program offered in collaboration with Johns Hopkins University, will be offered July 5-29.

Cost:
$2,000 per student, plus a $55 nonrefundable application fee. Students also can receive transferable college credits for earning a grade of B or higher.
Background:
“Engineering Innovation” is made possible through a partnership between Cal State Fullerton and Johns Hopkins University. The program is part of the university’s effort to expose more students to the possibilities of education and careers in science, technology, engineering and mathematics, or the STEM fields. The program’s focus reflects Cal State Fullerton’s heightened emphasis on increasing student interest in the STEM fields.
Instructors:
Binod Tiwari, assistant professor of civil and environmental engineering, and a local high school science teacher, will team up to teach the course. Class size is limited; registration will remain open through mid-June or until the class is filled.
