Sept. 22 Breakfast Lecture Addresses Need and Opportunities

Cal State Fullerton's College of Engineering and Computer Science hosts the first of two fall Technology Breakfasts presented by its ECS Affiliates. The event is open to the public.

Michael J. Bostic, director of customer advocacy for the Civil Communications Solutions Division of Raytheon Network Centric Systems, will present "Long-Term Evolution Advancing Capabilities in Policing."

Additional:      
Bostic is a 34-year Los Angeles Police Department veteran and former deputy chief, as well as a graduate of the FBI's National Executive Institute and National Academy. He holds a bachelor's degree in police science from Cal State Long Beach and a master of public administration degree from USC.

Bostic will discuss the need for the public-safety sector to work together and engage with industry to help define the future of next-generation, "long-term evolution" technologies for civil communications. Police executives and IT professionals in public safety are demanding these new field capabilities, he notes. Many companies, including Raytheon, have begun development and research for broadband capabilities in public safety and are pushing forward with open architecture that will give public safety professionals a vast array of capabilities.
