As part of a Cal State Fullerton Philosophy Department speaker series, philosopher Dominic Lopes will deliver a free public lecture on art and photography titled "We're All Artists Now: Three Arts of Photography."

Who:      
Dominic Lopes is a philosophy professor at the University of British Columbia. His research focuses on pictorial representation and perception, the aesthetic and epistemic value of pictures, theories of art and its value, the ontology of art, computer art and new art forms. He is vice president of the American Society for Aesthetics and co-edits Wiley-Blackwell's "New Directions in Aesthetics" book series. His honors include two Indiana University Teaching Excellence awards, a Philosophical Quarterly Essay Prize and the American Society for Aesthetics Outstanding Monograph Prize.
