Mock Trial and Discussion Mark Constitution Day

What: Cal State Fullerton is presenting a mock trial and panel discussion as part of Constitution Day celebrations on campus Sept. 20-21. The public is welcome and invited to the free events.

Who: A Tuesday, Sept. 20, discussion on the U.S. Constitution and its continued relevance will be presented by panelists Gary LoGalbo, CSUF political science lecturer; Russ Espinoza, CSUF assistant professor of psychology; and Brydon Shirk, a member of the university's Osher Lifelong Learning Institute. Raphael J. Sonenshein, chair of the Division of Politics, Administration and Justice, will moderate the discussion.

When / Where:

  • Tuesday, Sept. 20 noon - 1 p.m. discussion in Becker Amphitheater
  • Wednesday, Sept. 21 10:30-11:45 a.m. or 2:30-3:45 p.m. in the Titan Student Union. Video screenings with audience members asked to serve as jurors and deliberate to reach a verdict during a mock trail.

Why: Event organizers said the events are aimed at teaching about the importance and challenges of the jury system in the United States.

Parking: $2 per hour or $8 for a daily permit. Details available online.
