Pro and Cons of Proposition 19 to Be Discussed Oct. 28

Cal State Fullerton’s departments of Criminal Justice, Geography and Sociology, with the Criminal Justice Student Association will host “Legally Stoned in California,” a free, public panel discussion on Proposition 19, the act that would regulate, control and tax cannabis. Californians are voting on the measure Nov. 2.
Who: Panelists include Stephen Gutwillig, California Director of the Drug Policy Alliance; Mark A.R. Kleiman, UCLA professor of public policy; Beau Kilmer, RAND Corp.’s Drug Policy Research Center co-director; and J. Hampton Atkinson, a medical doctor from UC San Diego’s Center for Medicinal Cannabis Research.
When: 11:30 a.m.-2:30 p.m., Thursday, Oct. 28

Why: Event organizers said the aim of the panel is to familiarize voters with the pros and cons of Proposition 19.
