Cal State Fullerton Army ROTC Program Promotes Graduating Cadets

What:

Thirteen Army ROTC cadets will be commissioned Friday, May 22, as second lieutenants during a ceremony at Cal State Fullerton. The CSUF program welcomes cadets from other universities, including Biola, Chapman, UC Irvine, Vanguard and Whittier College.

  • Whittier: Patrick J. Garcia, B.A. public administration, National Guard aviation
  • Alhambra: Cameron K. Larsuel, B.A. political science, National Guard infantry
  • Fullerton: Antonio P. Limcaco, B.A. business administration, National Guard finance
  • Buena Park: John J. Pak, B.A. criminal justice, active Army aviation
  • San Marino: Hao V. Vong, M.S. software engineering, National Guard field artillery

Biola University:
  • Forth Klamath, Ore.: Tyler J. Brown, B.A. international studies, National Guard signal corp.
  • Monrovia: Caleb D. Campbell, B.A. philosophy, National Guard infantry
  • Marshfield, Wis.: Nicolas S. Conner, B.S. sociology, National Guard quartermaster

Chapman University:
  • Yorba Linda: Jeffrey G. Griswold, B.A. political science, active Army military intelligence. Griswold will receive the ROTC's Omar Bradley Superior Cadet Award for being ranked the No. 1 soldier in the CSUF battalion. The award is given to the cadet with the highest academic standing, best physical fitness and outstanding community service. In addition, he recently won the national George C. Marshall ROTC Award.

Vanguard University:
  • Costa Mesa: Alexandra L. Vavarre, B.A. psychology, Army Reserve medical services

Whittier College:
  • San Clemente: Sean T. Summerall, B.A. political science, National Guard aviation

Next:

The soon-to-be officers will continue training at military bases throughout the country. Once their training is complete, they will be deployed to Afghanistan or elsewhere.
