Cal State Fullerton Hosts Conference on Latin America and Impact on Earth

Cal State Fullerton presents the second annual Latin American Studies Student Conference, “Pachamama to Obama: Globalization in Las Americas,” May 8. Pachamama is a goddess revered by the indigenous people of the Andes and is translated as Mother Earth.

Titan Theatre in the Titan Student Union, Cal State Fullerton 800 N. State College Blvd., Fullerton, 92631

Highlights:

Sandra M. Perez-Linggi, associate professor of modern languages and literatures, will deliver the keynote address on Latin America’s global impact. Panel discussions on Brazil, gender, material culture and visual culture are scheduled. A documentary on femicide in Guatemala is scheduled to screen at 1:30 p.m.
