What does the future hold in housing, employment, inflation and finance in light of the current economic situation? Economist Anil Puri, dean of Cal State Fullerton’s Steven G. Mihaylo College of Business and Economics, and Mira Farka, assistant professor of economics, will explain the economic trends in these turbulent times during the 2009 “Midyear Economic Forecast.”

“We will discuss this unprecedented financial crisis and the state of the national and local economy today and over the next two years,” said Puri, who has served as dean of Mihaylo College of Business and Economics since 1999. As co-director of the Institute for Economic and Environmental Studies, Puri has provided economic forecasts twice a year for 14 years and led the institute in numerous studies and policy advice on economic and environmental issues. Before joining Cal State Fullerton, Farka worked on Wall Street as a research consultant and as an economist with Deutsche Bank in New York, where she was responsible for designing economic and statistical models to forecast currency rates, stock returns and macroeconomic indicators.
