Cal State Fullerton is hosting an 18-hour call center Monday, as part of the “California Cash for College” effort that helps students learn about Cal Grants and other forms of financial aid to help defray the costs of attending the state’s public and private colleges and universities.
Monday, Feb. 9
6 a.m. – midnight
Financial aid experts, outreach staff members and trained community volunteers are staffing the call-in center, where the public can dial 1-800-858-7100 to learn about Cal Grants and upcoming “Cash for College” workshops in Orange County, the Los Angeles area and the Inland Empire.

The “California Cash for College” effort is a partnership of the California State Senate Majority Caucus, the California Student Aid Commission and locally with state Sen. Lou Correa (D-Santa Ana). The commission was created in 1955 by the state Legislature and is the principal state agency responsible for administering financial aid programs for students attending colleges, universities and career/technical schools. The “California Cash for College” campaign is dedicated to helping low-income and first-generation college students successfully complete the financial aid application process. Workshops are being held throughout the state through February, in preparation for the March 2 deadline to apply for Cal Grants.
