Cal State Fullerton’s College of Communications hosts a Friday, Nov. 13, screening of the documentary “On the Wings of Penguins” to raise funds for student scholarships.
The family film — which focuses on the African penguin and its survival — was written, directed and produced by Stephanie Heredia, a 1983 communications graduate. The warm-weather penguin thrives in the wild, in aquariums and in zoos.
The screening will begin at 7 p.m. in Portola Pavilion of the Titan Student Union. Special activities for children will be held from 6 to 7 p.m. prior to the screening. Ticket prices are $5 for children, $10 for Cal State Fullerton students and $15 for all others.
Released by Warner Brothers as a companion to “The March of the Penguins,” the film was shot in more than 20 locations, including South Africa, New Orleans, Boston, San Francisco and Monterey.
“We are delighted to be screening this film developed by one of our outstanding alumni,” said Rick Pullen, dean of the College of Communications.
