Sept. 18 SEC Reporting Conference

Meeting the Challenge in Volatile Financial Markets

What:

Audit committee and board members, chief financial officers, finance directors, controllers, auditors and academics will be exploring financial reporting issues facing companies today, during the eighth annual Securities and Exchange Commission Conference sponsored by the Mihaylo College of Business and Economics Center for Corporate Reporting and Governance at Cal State Fullerton.

When:

Friday, Sept. 18
7:30 a.m. – 5 p.m.

Who:

Speakers include James Kroeker, SEC acting chief accountant; Thomas Linsmeier, a member of the Financial Accounting Standards Board; and Robert Bunting, president of the International Federation of Accountants.

Cost:

$400 for individuals, $1,800 for half table of five, $3,600 for table of 10. Fee includes continental breakfast and lunch. Eight hours of CPE credit available.

As part of the conference, academics from across the country will be meeting Thursday, Sept. 17, to discuss such issues as auditing, financial accounting and reporting, international accounting, corporate governance and ethics.

Background:

The Center for Corporate Reporting and Governance was established in 2003 within the Mihaylo College of Business and Economics to disseminate information on current financial reporting issues and interpretations of financial rules. More information is available online at the center's website.
