OLLI Announces 2008-09 Officers

Barbara Talento to Lead Lifelong Learning Organization for Second Term

Brea resident Barbara Talento, Cal State Fullerton emeritus professor of nursing, was re-elected president of the university's Osher Lifelong Learning Institute, a support group of more than 875 retired and semiretired individuals dedicated to the pursuit of lifelong learning.

Also elected to the 2008-09 board are: Anaheim resident Russell Havemann, vice president of administration; Buena Park resident Bebe Pollack, vice president of communications; Fullerton resident Alice Gresto, secretary; and Yorba Linda resident Carl Hurty, vice president of external relations.

Each officer serves a two-year term - with the exception of the president, who is elected on a yearly basis.

Continuing their terms are: Anaheim residents Bob Forrester, vice president of facilities, and Sharon Graham, treasurer; Orange resident Ken Kamber, vice president of membership; and Fullerton residents Elaine Mitchell, vice president of special events, and Fritz Von Coelin, vice president of programs.

Newly elected trustees are: Fullerton residents Carolyn Eckert, George Killianey and Pete Saputo; and Yorba Linda residents Dennis Fassnacht and Ron Osajima. They join trustees John Blaydes of Brea, Henry Giano of Placentia, Joyce Ono of Fullerton, John Pinson of Anaheim and past president/trustee Charlotte Fox of Fullerton.
