Photo Exhibit of Successful CSUF Alumni on Display at Fullerton City Hall

"Querer es Poder: 50 Examples," a motivational photo exhibit of 50 of Cal State Fullerton's successful Latino alumni, opens at Fullerton City Hall Monday, May 5, with a May 8 public reception featuring the Mariachi Divas.

Who:

Two of the exhibit's subjects - Fullerton Mayor Sharon Quirk (teaching credential '87) and Carlos Leija (B.A. psychology '91), chief development officer for Orangewood Children's Foundation - were born, raised and still live in Fullerton.

Background:

The traveling photo exhibit, part of Cal State Fullerton's 50th anniversary celebration, debuted at Santa Ana City Hall in March. It was at Irvine City Hall in April. Querer es poder is Spanish for "if you have the desire, you can achieve." In recognition of its Hispanic Serving Institution designation, the university's photo exhibit features 50 alumni, who exemplify the querer es poder theme.
