Christopher Kondo

What:

Cal State Fullerton’s new Sales Leadership Center is hosting orientation sessions about a Certificate in Professional Sales program open to students and working professionals.

When/Where:

Orientations will be held from 5:30-6:30 p.m. Oct. 2 and Nov. 6 in Room 2109 ofSteven G. Mihaylo Hall, Cal State Fullerton, 800 N. State College Blvd., Fullerton, 92831. Mihaylo Hall is located at the corner of Nutwood Avenue and Folino Drive.

Why:

“In a challenging economy, organizations will cut back in every area except sales,” said Christopher Kondo, center director. “That’s why the university’s Career Center has well over a 100 companies recruiting for sales talent at Cal State Fullerton.” About 50 percent of all undergraduate business administration majors will enter a field in which sales is a major component, Kondo added.

Certificate:

The new program consists of five 2½- hour sessions offered from 7-9:30 p.m. Jan. 13-15 and Jan. 21-22.

Background:

The center was established in August as part of the Mihaylo College of Business and Economics to meet the growing need for skilled sales professionals. For students pursuing degree programs, a sales-specific curriculum is being developed, along with opportunities for research, hands-on training and internships.
